Today's Daily Telegraph reveals NSW Government has spent nearly half a million on a trip to China and India.
Interesting that nearly half of this spend was on advertising and PR. It's hard to believe but true. The public relations and advertising costs were a whopping $100,000 each.
"Mr Iemma said this was largely to promote NSW in the local media".
Hang on a sec! Isn't that the job of Australian Tourism?????
The exact spend on PR on the China trip was $83,569.15 and India $30,000.
That's a total of $113,569.15 on PR!
Couldn't they just have left some nice brochures behind?
Llemma states in the article "Building our relationships with China and India is essential for the continued prosperity of our state".
NSW should just about be categorised a disaster zone and they're spending over 100k on PR to get it into the local press!
Good on the journalist Joe Hildebrand for bringing this to the publics attention.
